x helmet

We live in a unusual time in history.  Never has there been a society with so many solutions being offered (lo here, lo there), in every realm of life.  If solutions were water we'd be in a tsunami. Our art responds to this flood of solutions.
For example, one thing that is implicit in most of our pieces is a hearkening to the norm of reciprocity, a negotiating bid we hold out...."Ok world, go ahead, you offer me a solution; and then, I'll offer you a solution, but one that may be even better than yours.  And I agree to be as respectful, authentically open and obligated to your solution as you are to mine.  So, are you ready to wear a helmet?"
This peaceful/playful bid is our way towards reducing (in ourselves and others) feelings of compulsion to do a prescribed solution (in a prescribed way, at a prescribed time and pace, for a prescribed purpose).  Don't get us wrong, we love solutions and we want to be open (and encourage others too) to better solutions, even (especially) unorthodox ones.  But we want to share and be shared with in a peaceful, sober manner, one that respects the essence of this credo:

If I esteem mankind to be in error, shall I bear them down? No. I will lift them up, and in their own way too, if I cannot persuade them my way is better; and I will not seek to compel any man to believe as I do, only by the force of reasoning, for truth will cut its own way     - Joseph Smith
